A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice and is placed underneath the skin between the shoulder blades of your pet. The procedure only takes a few minutes and is very safe. Each microchip in unique and carries information that will be linked to your pet’s name, address, and contact information that is included in a national pet recovery database. You will be given a registration form to complete.

A scan for a microchip by a veterinary clinic, animal control officer, or a pet shelter will reveal the microchip’s unique code so that through the database, you can be contacted and reunited with your pet.
